CASE: 44 years old woman from Philippines has been suffering abdomina pain and diarrhoea for some time. Stool sample was requested and the findings are in the image. The size of the particles are around 90 x 60 micrometers.

Can you identify these particles?
























Correct answer: Schistosoma japonicum ova. Too large to be hook worm, missing internal hooklets excludes H. nana and H diminuta.
